1. CIVIC ENGAGEMENT & COMMUNITY ORGANIZING

Project Outline: The Miami Valley Civic Engagement Initiative (MVCEI) is an ongoing community organizing and engagement initiative for increasing skills, awareness, and competency of agencies and community stakeholders to respond to existing and emerging issues by combining the National Issues Forums model and Civic Life International’s community-informed approach. MVCEI focuses on the issues surrounding 1) youth & violence, 2) racial & ethnic tension, and 3) immigration , by using deliberative democracy techniques as powerful group processes to help people bridge gaps, make informed decisions, take collective action, resolve conflict and become more active citizens.

2. PROCESS CONSULTING & WORKPLACE PROGRAM

We assist the work of businesses, institutions and agencies by delivery of participatory online and phone data collection services and other ingenious approaches to cultural competence in the workplace. We can help you capitalize the potential of intercultural diversity and compete effectively in the market, while reaching a level of empowerment which goes beyond inclusion. Our training modules Enhance trusting relationships improve teamwork translates well into strategic business goals and profit returns.

3. CONFLICT RESOLUTION & ISSUE FRAMING

We go beyond political, social, and economic strategies and use dialogue and deliberative methods to connect people and organizations; to get them to look at issues and challenges through psychological and spiritual lenses; to create a safe and shared space for the understanding of one another. Our Workshops allow participants to, express concerns, weigh approaches, identify and dismantle the source(s) of the conflicts and be able to identify common struggles and shared goals and harness the energy of the group process for collective action. We also have experience in recording and airing public forums on pubic television reaching thousands of viewers.

4. YOUTH LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

CLI Youth Leaderships training program is an activity with a purpose, this purpose is connected to social usefulness of the trainees. Youth leaders’ social useful goals is structured not only to meet the needs of their peers, but also to elevate themselves, their peers and the community to a higher moral and civic level. The approach of Civic Life International youth leadership program incorporates the African notion of Ubuntu, that is, the interdependence of all people.
